The vicissitudes of history have always shocked people in the comparison between the past and the present.

"In the past 40 years, we have emancipated our minds, seek truth from facts, boldly tried and courageously changed, and produced a new world". At the Congress celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, General Secretary Xi Jinping deeply recalled the extraordinary course of our Party's unity in leading the people of all nationalities in the same boat, overcoming difficulties and hardships, and forging ahead, which provided us with a profound understanding of the great significance and achievements of reform and opening-up, and continued to push reform and opening-up forward in the new era, injecting firm confidence and strong impetus.

Over the past 40 years, the pace of reform has never stopped, from the implementation of household contract, the development of township enterprises, the abolition of agricultural tax, animal husbandry tax and special product tax to the separation of "three powers" in rural contracted land, winning the battle against poverty, and the implementation of Rural Revitalization strategy; in the past 40 years, from the establishment of special economic zones such as Shenzhen, along the coastal border and along the river and inland central cities, to the opening up to the outside world, to the accession to the World Trade Organization, and the implementation of Rural Revitalization Building the "one belt and one road", setting up a free trade pilot area, planning a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, and successfully holding the first China International Import fair, from "bringing in" to "going out", the opening door is bigger and bigger.

Forty years in one go, and forty years are still strong. Today, reform and opening up is the most distinctive feature of contemporary China and the most distinctive banner of our Party in the new historical period. Over the past 40 years, our Party has led the people in the spirit of "always on the road" to continuously promote the deepening of reform and opening up. From doing well in large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, developing individual and private economy to deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises and developing mixed ownership economy, from single public ownership to public ownership as the main body, multi-ownership economy developing together and adhering to the "two unshakable", from the traditional planned economy to the socialist market economic system of unprecedented times, to making the market play a decisive role in the allocation of resources. Sexual role and better play the role of the government, with economic restructuring as the main axis, reform and opening up continue to make new breakthroughs in important areas and key links. Over the past 40 years, we have firmly regarded development as the first priority of the Party's ruling and rejuvenating the country. We have adhered to the emancipation and development of social productive forces. Reform and opening-up have not only freed China from the danger of being expelled from ball membership, but also made a decisive step for the Chinese people to become wealthy and strong.

"Without reform and opening up, there will be no China today; without reform and opening up, there will be no China tomorrow." Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, has steadfastly deepened the reform in an all-round way, pushing forward the reform in an all-round way with multi-point breakthroughs, steady steps and in-depth progress.
